Pratyahara
Pratyahara in Sanskrit means WITHDRAWAL. In terms of Yogic Practices, it is synonymous with withdrawal of senses from sense objects. At higher levels, it resonates with the teaching in Ashtavakra Gita: If you desire liberation, shun the sense objects (VISHAYAs) like poison...
Psychic Sleep (Yoga Nidra) is a practice in Pratyahara. For a 38 minute psychic sleep practice, please use these guided instructions (or download the MP3 file here) while lying down (preferably on a Yoga Mat) with eyes closed, and with your body in the pose of relaxation. We prescribe the Yoga Mat and not the bed, since you are supposed to stay awake throughout the practice. Stay awake, keep on listening to the audio (38 minutes long), and do not sleep.
